A Michelin-starred restaurant located in Brooklyn, New York is seeking an experienced Sommelier / Assistant Manager to join its service leadership team.
The restaurant is known for its refined dining experience, strong sense of hospitality, and close collaboration between the kitchen and service teams. This role combines deep wine expertise with on-the-floor leadership, supporting daily operations while elevating the overall guest experience.

Compensation
Annual salary up to $120,000
(Based on experience, skills, and prior performance)
Schedule
- Tuesday through Saturday
- Closed on designated restaurant holidays
Responsibilities
- Provide wine, champagne, sake, and non-alcoholic beverage service, including pairing recommendations
- Deliver knowledgeable tableside presentations to guests
- Manage and update the wine list
- Oversee wine cellar organization, inventory control, and purchasing
- Train service staff on wine and beverage knowledge
- Work closely with kitchen and front-of-house teams to enhance the guest experience
- Maintain service standards consistent with Michelin-level hospitality
- Support daily floor operations as part of the management team
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a sommelier or wine professional in a Michelin-starred or equivalent fine dining restaurant
- Extensive knowledge of wine, champagne, sake, and food pairing principles
- Sommelier certification such as CMS, WSET, or equivalent is strongly preferred
- Fluent English communication skills (guest interaction and staff training level)
- Proven ability to lead calmly and professionally in a high-pressure environment
- Strong sense of hospitality, professionalism, and attention to detail
- Team-oriented mindset with a desire to contribute beyond individual service duties
