A Michelin-starred sushi restaurant in Tribeca is seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team.

We specialize in Edomae-style omakase featuring premium fish flown in directly from Japan, including Toyosu Market.

Location

Tribeca, New York City

Compensation

$21/hour (based on experience and skill) + tips

Schedule

Wednesday to Sunday, 3:00 PM – Close (with break)

Staff meal provided

Key Responsibilities

  • Fish filleting, ingredient prep, and cooking
  • Assist at the counter and with plating
  • Manage inventory and ordering
  • Support and lead kitchen staff
  • Collaborate closely with the Head Chef

Qualifications

  • Strong knife and fish-handling skills
  • Minimum 5 years of culinary experience
  • Excellent hygiene and attention to detail
  • Team player with strong work ethic

Preferred Skills

  • Japanese language skills a plus
  • English proficiency required
  • Experience in high-end Japanese or sushi restaurants preferred
