A Michelin-starred sushi restaurant in Tribeca is seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team.
We specialize in Edomae-style omakase featuring premium fish flown in directly from Japan, including Toyosu Market.
Location
Tribeca, New York City
Compensation
$21/hour (based on experience and skill) + tips
Schedule
Wednesday to Sunday, 3:00 PM – Close (with break)
Staff meal provided
Key Responsibilities
- Fish filleting, ingredient prep, and cooking
- Assist at the counter and with plating
- Manage inventory and ordering
- Support and lead kitchen staff
- Collaborate closely with the Head Chef
Qualifications
- Strong knife and fish-handling skills
- Minimum 5 years of culinary experience
- Excellent hygiene and attention to detail
- Team player with strong work ethic
Preferred Skills
- Japanese language skills a plus
- English proficiency required
- Experience in high-end Japanese or sushi restaurants preferred
