A new sushi training institute is scheduled to open in Spring 2026 in Cincinnati, Ohio. This unique concept will combine a sushi academy during the day and an omakase restaurant at night, both operated under one roof.
We are seeking a passionate sushi professional who can serve as both a head instructor for our educational program and a lead omakase chef in the evening restaurant. This dual role is ideal for someone who wants to pass on their craft while still staying active in culinary execution.
Position
Sushi Instructor & Omakase Chef (Full-time)
Responsibilities
- Teach hands-on and theoretical sushi classes during daytime hours
- Serve as omakase head chef for the restaurant in the evening
- Help design curriculum and training materials
- Oversee kitchen operations, menu planning, and ingredient sourcing
- Support equipment and operational setup before launch
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $120,000/year + performance-based incentives
- Start Date: Spring 2026 (Flexible)

Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in sushi preparation, including omakase
- Interest or experience in teaching or training others
- Cultural understanding of Japanese cuisine and dining etiquette
- Basic communication in English
