Sous Chef Position – Luxury Hotel Restaurant in Manhattan, New YorkLocated in an elegant hotel just steps away from Fifth Avenue and Central Park, our restaurant welcomes a diverse clientele, including tourists, business guests, and local high-net-worth patrons. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee staffing levels and back-of-house operations for smooth service
• Maintain food cost controls, inventory management, sanitation, and labor tracking
• Supervise opening/closing kitchen procedures
• Support preparation and service of both hot and cold dishes
• Order, receive, and store ingredients following proper procedures
• Enforce recipe standards, portioning, plating, and kitchen presentation
• Ensure all equipment is clean, maintained, and reported for repair if needed
• Lead, train, and evaluate kitchen team members
• Review payroll, manage scheduling, and monitor daily labor reports
• Attend interdepartmental meetings and communicate with hotel leadership
• Other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef

 Requirements

• ACF “Sous Chef” certification or formal culinary degree (or equivalent experience)
• 3–5 years of large-scale food production experience in upscale hotels or restaurants
• 1+ year of supervisory experience in similar settings
• Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of food safety and kitchen operations
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and push carts up to 200 lbs
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication abilities
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
